Strout will discuss returning to the beloved characters of Lucy Barton and her ex-husband, William, and why their dynamic continues to be such a rich source of inspiration.

Lucy by the Sea follows Lucy and William as they end up stuck together in Maine for several months during lockdown. Rich with empathy and emotion, the novel vividly captures the fear and struggles that come with isolation, as well as the hope, peace, and possibilities that those long, quiet days can inspire. As always with Strout’s novels, you’ll marvel at the power of human connection, and how the author manages to make ordinary moments feel utterly extraordinary.

This event will be broadcast via Zoom, and each ticket includes a hardcover copy of Lucy by the Sea in addition to event access.

*Signed book plates included to the first 20 ticket holders!
